Journey to the West Chapter 20 The Black Bear
《西游记》第二十章：黑熊精
Wukong glared at the two scared priests. "The robe is gone?" he cried. "Where did it go?"
悟空瞪着那两个害怕的和尚。“袈裟不见了？”他大叫，“袈裟到底去哪儿了？”
"We don't know!" said one priest.
“我们不知道！”一个和尚说。
"We tried to find it," added the other.
“我们试着去找过。”另一个和尚补充说，
"The robe was in a room that didn't get burned at all. But it’s not there anymore."
“那袈裟原本在一个一点儿都没被烧到的屋子里，但现在它不在那里了。”
His iron bar instantly appeared from inside his ear.
悟空立刻从耳朵里掏出金箍棒。
"Grow!" commanded Wukong. The monkey swung it toward the two priests.
“长！”悟空命令道。悟空挥着金箍棒朝两个和尚打去。
But before the bar hit them, it dropped from the monkey's hands.
他的金箍棒还没有碰到那两个和尚，悟空就把它扔掉了。
Wukong fell to the ground, crying in pain. "It hurts! It hurts!" he cried.
悟空倒在地上，痛苦地大叫。“好疼啊！好疼啊！”他大叫着。
The Tang Monk was quietly reciting the Tight Headband spell.
唐僧默默地念着紧箍咒。
Wukong rolled around, kicking and screaming. The two priests jumped up and backed away.
悟空四下打滚，又踢又叫。两个和尚跳起来向后退。
"Stop reciting the spell!" Wukong yelled at the Tang Monk. "I'm begging you! I won't hurt the priests!"
“不要再念咒了！”悟空朝着唐僧大叫，“我求求你！我不会伤害那些和尚了！”
The Tang Monk stopped, and Wukong stood up.
唐僧停止了念咒，悟空站了起来。
The monkey took a deep breath and put the iron bar back in his ear.
悟空做了一次深呼吸，然后把金箍棒放进了耳朵里。
The Tang Monk looked at the two priests. "You really don't know where the robe is?"
唐僧看着那两个和尚：“你们真的不知道袈裟在哪儿吗？”
"No," said one priest. "The head priest ran away last night. He didn't have it with him."
“真的不知道。”一个和尚说，“住持昨晚逃走了。他没带着袈裟一起走。”
Wukong tapped his chin. "A monster or demon might have stolen it.
悟空摸了摸下巴：“可能是被妖怪偷走了。
Are there any monsters or demons living near here?"
这附近有什么妖魔鬼怪吗？”
"Some people believe there's a monster in the mountains nearby," said the other priest.
“有人觉得附近的山上有妖怪。”另一个和尚说，
"They say it's a black bear spirit."
“他们说那是个黑熊精。”
"I'll go see if the bear took the robe," said Wukong. "I'll be back soon."
“我去看看是不是那只熊拿走了袈裟。”悟空说，“我去去就来。”
Wukong leaped into the air and landed up in the mountains. He walked for a bit and then heard voices.
悟空跃上空中飞了一阵，落在了山里。他走了一会儿，听到了说话的声音。
Peeking over a boulder, he saw a group of spirits talking. One was a large black bear.
他藏在一块巨石后面悄悄地看着，结果看到了一群妖怪在说话。其中，有一只很大的黑熊。
The bear laughed. "The monastery was on fire last night.
那只熊大声笑着：“那寺院昨晚着火了。
"I went down to check it out and found a wonderful Buddhist robe.
我下山去查看，结果发现了一件极好的袈裟。
I think it's a Buddhist treasure. Anyway, I stole it. So tonight I'm throwing a feast to celebrate!"
我觉得这是佛祖的宝贝。不管怎样，我把它偷来了。今晚，我要举行宴会，好好儿庆祝一下。”
When Wukong heard the other spirits laugh, he was furious.
当悟空听到其他妖怪笑起来时，非常愤怒。
He jumped over the boulder and landed in the middle of the group.
他跃过了巨石，落在了那群妖怪中间。
"Give back the robe right now!" he cried. He pulled out his iron bar. "Or I'll destroy all of you!"
“立刻把袈裟还给我！”他大叫。他抽出了金箍棒：“不然，我就打死你们！”
The spirits all fled in different directions.
妖怪们四处逃窜。
Wukong chased the bear until they reached a cave entrance. The bear ran inside and slammed the door shut.
悟空追在黑熊精身后，直至一个洞口。黑熊跑进了洞里，猛地关上门。
Wukong pounded on the cave's door. "Come out here right now or I'll smash this door down!"
悟空大力捶打着岩洞的大门。“立刻给我出来，不然我就砸了这门！”
The door flew open.
洞门打开了。
The bear stepped out. He was holding a lance.
黑熊精走了出来。他拿着长矛。
"How dare you pound on my door and yell at me!" he cried.
“你怎么敢捶我的门，还对我大叫！”他高声说。
"You stole my master's robe!" said Wukong.
“你偷了我师父的袈裟！”悟空说。
"I can do whatever I want," said the bear. "I am the Black Wind King. I'm the most powerful monster in these mountains!"
“我想干吗，就干吗。”黑熊说，“我是黑风王。我是这山里最有本事的妖怪。”
"I am Sun Wukong, king of the Fruit and Flower Mountain," said the monkey.
“我是孙悟空，花果山大王。”悟空说，
"I caused lots of trouble in Heaven five hundred years ago. The Jade Emperor's entire army couldn't defeat me!"
“我五百年前大闹天宫，玉帝的天兵天将都不能打败我！”
The Black Wind King snorted. "You don't impress me."
黑风王哼了一声：“我没听说过。”
He jabbed his lance at Wukong. Clang! The monkey blocked the lance with his iron bar.
他用长矛向悟空捅过去。哐当！悟空用他的金箍棒挡住了长矛。
Rocks tumbled and rolled downhill as the two warriors fought.
这二人打斗时，山上的石头都震动了起来，纷纷滚下山去。
After an hour of fighting, the Black Wind King held up a hand.
斗了一个小时后，黑风王举起了一只手。
"I need to take a break. It's time for my lunch."
“我要休息一下。我得吃午饭了。”
Wukong's jaw fell open. "What?"
悟空张大了嘴巴：“你说什么？”
Before Wukong could say anything else, the bear ran back into his cave. The door slammed shut.
悟空还没来得及说话，黑熊精转身跑进了洞里。门又被关上了。
