"Wan-wan !"Hachiko barked loudly."Wan-wan!"
“汪汪!”八公大声叫道，“汪汪!”
Then, all his strength gone, he sighed a great sigh and collapsed to the ground.
然后，他用尽了所有的力气，长叹一声，瘫倒在地。
"Hachiko!"Yasuo cried as he watched the dog take a few shuddering breaths.
“八公!”Yasuo看着这只狗颤抖着呼吸了几下，哭了起来。
His chest heaved up and down once, twice, three times... and then was still.
他的胸部上下起伏了一次，两次，三次……然后就不动了。
Yasuo ran to get the Station Master."Hurry, we must help him!"he cried.
Yasuo跑去找站长。“快点，我们得帮帮他!”他哭了。
Mr. Yoshikawa came running.
吉川先生跑了过来。
He knelt down by the dog and stroked Hachiko's great head.
他跪在狗旁边，抚摸着八公的大脑袋。
"It is too late,"he said, his voice filled with sorrow.
“太晚了，”他说，声音里充满了悲伤。
A small crowd gathered around Hachiko's body.
一小群人围着八公的尸体。
The yakitori vendor took off his happi jacket and handed it to Yasuo with a silent bow.
卖肉串的小贩脱下他的夹克，默默地鞠了一躬，把衣服递给了Yasuo。
Yasuo took the jacket and tenderly covered the dog with it.
Yasuo拿起夹克，温柔地把它盖在狗身上。
Then he turned his head and blinked his eyes rapidly.
然后他转过头去，快速眨着眼睛。
He was almost a grown man now, and he did not want to cry.
他现在差不多算个成年人了，他不想哭。
"Come with me,"Mr. Yoshikawa said.
“跟我来，”站长说。
He brought Yasuo into his office and had him sit down in a chair.
他把Yasuo带到办公室，让他坐在椅子上。
The Station Master pulled up another chair for himself, and the two friends sat together side by side without speaking, each deep in thought.
站长又拉过一把椅子，这两个朋友坐在一起，谁也不说话，各自都在沉思默想。
After a while, the Station Master looked at Yasuo.
过了一会儿，站长看了看Yasuo。
"We feel sad for ourselves because we will not see Hachiko anymore,"he said.
“我们再也见不到八公了，所以我们很难过。”他说。
"But there is a reason to feel happy too."
“但我们也应该觉得高兴。”
"What is there to feel happy about?"
“有什么好高兴的?”
Yasuo asked, his eyes brimming with tears.
Yasuo问道，眼里充满了泪水。
