"Hachiko is no longer old, and he is no longer tired," answered Mr. Yoshikawa, who was a bit old and tired himself.
“八公不会再老了，也不会再累了，”又老又疲劳的吉川先生回答说。
"He has left his body, but his spirit is in a better place now."
“他离开了自己的身体，但他的灵魂去了一个更好的地方。”
"Do you really think so?"asked Yasuo.
“你真的这么觉得吗?”Yasuo问道。
"I will tell you what I think,"the Station Master said,"though it is far from traditional, and it may even sound foolish."
“我来告诉你我的想法，”站长说，“虽然这跟传统相去甚远，甚至听起来很愚蠢。”
Mr. Yoshikawa paused and waited while a train pulled into the station.
火车进站时，吉川先生暂停等待了一会儿。
"Do you hear that train?"he asked.
“你听到火车声了吗?”他问道。
Yasuo nodded.
福田点了点头。
"I have been around trains all my life,"Mr. Yoshikawa said,
“我这辈子都围绕着火车活的。”站长说,
"and I have come to believe that there is a special train to bring those who have obtained Enlightenment up to Heaven.
我相信，有一列特别的火车，会把那些已经得到启示的人带到天堂。
Every day for the past ten years, Professor Ueno has met this special train to see if his beloved Akita-ken is on it.
在过去的十年里，上野教授每天都会乘坐这列特别的火车，看看他心爱的秋田犬是否还在站台上。
Day after day after day he has waited up in Heaven, just as Hachiko has waited here on earth.
日复一日，他在天堂等待着，就像八公在人间等他一样。
And today, when the special train reaches Heaven and opens its doors, Hachiko will be the first one to step out.
今天，当这辆专列到达天堂并打开大门时，八公会是第一个下车的。
Just think how happy he will be to see his master again."
想想看，他要是能再见到他的主人，该有多高兴啊!”
Yasuo smiled. "He will lick the Professor's fingers and then run in circles and make himself dizzy."
Yasuo笑了。“他会舔教授的手指，围着他打转，直到把自己转晕。”
Mr. Yoshikawa smiled too and brushed away a tear.
吉川也笑了笑，擦掉了一滴眼泪。
"I will miss him very much."
“我会非常想念他的。”
Yasuo nodded and wiped his wet cheeks."So will I."
Yasuo点点头，擦了擦湿润的脸颊。“我也是”。
