1. Yet: 还、尚、迄今

这是yet很高频、大家也比较熟悉的一个意思。通常在这个情况下，会用have done现在完成时表达。

Have you finished your homework yet? 你做完作业了吗？

We haven't covered "yet" yet: 我们节目还没说过“yet”这个词。

I haven't seen the movie yet: 我还没看过那部电影。

2. Yet: 再、还，用来表示数量增加或某件事情频繁、重复发生

We've done so many shows, but we are recording yet another show today: 我们已经做过很多集节目了，但是我们今天还要再多录一集。

Vancouver's weather is 'rain, rain and yet more rain': 温哥华的天气是“下雨、下雨、而且还有更多的雨”。

The boss is giving the team yet more work: 老板给团队又多加了工作。

The situation is challenging now. Yet, it could get even more challenging: 情况已经很有挑战性，未来还有可能更具挑战。

3. Yet: 然而、尽管

可以大致理解为"but"，但是更像"in spite of"、"nevertheless"的含义，就是"即便如此，但是......"

I couldn't afford the outfit, yet I bought it anyway: 尽管衣服超出我的预算，但我还是买了。

He claimed to be an expert in time management, yet he was always late to his own meetings: 他称自己为时间管理专家，但是自己拉的会常常迟到。

She fell halfway, yet got up and still managed to win the race: 她虽然赛跑时半程跌倒，但起来后，仍然以第一名完赛。

Yet作为“然而”、“尽管”的意思时，还常用来描述看似矛盾，但却能共存、兼容的事物，有点像“既、又 （不失）”

Stylish yet functional: 既有风格、又很实用

Cheap yet elegant: 虽然便宜，但很优雅

Durable yet lightweight: 耐用却轻便

Traditional yet innovative: 既传统同时又新颖

Confident yet humble: 既自信又谦虚

Comprehensive yet accessible: 既全面又易懂

4. Yet: 从现在起到将来的某个时间节点，常用来推测、预测未来

The best is yet to come: 最好的在未来。

Scientists may yet discover new ways to tackle environmental issues: 科学家们在未来将不断发现治理环境问题的新方法。

We'll probably be a few minutes yet: 我们大概还会晚几分钟。

Our meeting will continue for some time yet: 我们的会议还将继续一段时间。
