"The Silver Shoes," said the Good Witch, "have wonderful powers.

"If that is so," said the child joyfully, "I will ask them to carry me back to Kansas at once."

Dorothy now took Toto up solemnly in her arms, and having said one last good-bye "Good-bye, everyone", she clapped the heels of her shoes together three times, saying: "Take me home to Aunt Em!"

The Silver Shoes took but three steps, and then she stopped so suddenly that she rolled over upon the grass several times before she knew where she was.

Aunt Em had just come out of the house to water the cabbages when she looked up and saw Dorothy running toward her.
爱姆婶婶拿着卷心菜从屋子里出来，正要洗，她一抬眼，却发现了小女孩向着她奔来。
"My darling child!" she CRIed, folding the little girl in her arms and covering her face with kisses.
“我的亲爱的宝贝儿！”爱姆婶婶喊着，用她的两臂紧紧地搂着多萝茜，俯在她的小脸上吻着；
"Where in the world did you come from?"
“你到底从哪里跑回来的？”
"From the Land of Oz," said Dorothy gravely. "And here is Toto, too.
多萝茜严肃地说：“我从奥芝回来的，而且托托也和我在一起。
And oh, Aunt Em! I'm so glad to be at home again!"
啊，爱姆婶婶，我终于回到家里来了，多么让人高兴呀！”
