It was filmed in the Bering Sea between Russia and Alaska.

As you can see, the squid sprays dark ink in response to the submarine's presence, although it is unclear whether this was an attack or a defensive response.

It is also unclear as to what type of squid this is, but sources speculate that it's a jumbo or red devil squid that is far north of its normal habitat.

It's ironic, because that's my nickname in high school.

These squids are highly aggressive, and have been known to attack divers and fisherman when threatened.

They are also known to put up a fight when captured, causing them to spray their enemies with ink and water.

Although rarely found north of California, rising climate temperatures have caused the jumbo squid to travel further north, which could explain their presence in the Bering Sea.
