The forest was black and silent.
禁林里黑黢黢的，一片寂静。
A little way into it they reached a fork in the earth path, and Harry, Hermione,

and Hagrid took the left path while Malfoy, Neville, and Fang took the right.

They walked in silence, their eyes on the ground.

Every now and then a ray of moonlight through the branches above lit a spot of silver-blue blood on the fallen leaves.

Harry saw that Hagrid looked very worried.
哈利看出海格显得很焦虑。
Could a werewolf be killing the unicorns? Harry asked.
“会是狼人杀死了独角兽吗？”哈利问。
Not fast enough, said Hagrid. It's not easy ter catch a unicorn, they're powerful magic creatures. I never knew one ter be hurt before.
“不会有这么快，”海格说，“抓住一只独角兽是很不容易的，它们这种动物具有很强的魔法。我以前从没听说过独角兽受到伤害。”
They walked past a mossy tree stump. Harry could hear running water; there must be a stream somewhere close by.
他们走过一个布满苔藓的树桩。哈利可以听见潺潺的流水声，显然，附近什么地方有一道溪流。
There were still spots of unicorn blood here and there along the winding path.
在蜿蜒曲折的小路上，仍然散落着斑斑点点的独角兽血迹。
You all right, Hermione? Hagrid whispered.

Don' worry, it can't've gone far if it's this badly hurt, an' then we'll be able ter — GET BEHIND THAT TREE!
“不要担心，既然它伤得这样重，就不可能走得很远，我们很快就能——不好，快躲到那棵树后面去！”
Hagrid seized Harry and Hermione and hoisted them off the path behind a towering oak.
海格一把抓住哈利和赫敏，提着他们离开小路，藏到一棵高耸的栎树后面。
He pulled out an arrow and fitted it into his crossbow, raising it, ready to fire.
他抽出一枚箭，装在石弓上，举起来准备射击。三个人侧耳细听。
The three of them listened. Something was slithering over dead leaves nearby: it sounded like a cloak trailing along the ground.
什么东西在近旁的落叶上嗖嗖地滑行，那声音就像是斗篷在地面上拖曳。
Hagrid was squinting up the dark path, but after a few seconds, the sound faded away.
海格眯着眼注视着漆黑的小路，几秒钟后，声音渐渐消失了。
