Ms Yang: It's a love story about a concubine and emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
杨女士:它讲述的是唐朝玄宗皇帝和他的一位贵妃的爱情故事。
Amelia: Are the headdress and the costume supposed to reveal her identity? They are exquisite.
阿米莉娅:从头饰和服装能看出她的身份吗?它们好精致。
Ms Yang: Yes. And the water sleeves are used profusely in Chinese opera to express emotions.
杨女士:是的。而且在中国戏曲中丰富地使用水袖来表达人物的情绪。

Ms Yang: I know it's difficult, even people who speak Mandarin don't necessarily understand Cantonese. It's mainly spoken in Guangdong province, and also in Hong Kong.
杨女士:我知道这挺难的,即便是说中文的人也不一定能听懂粵语。粤语主要是广东和香港的人在讲。
Amelia: And I heard that the lyrics are very poetic.

Ms Yang: It's true. Many Cantonese opera plays are actually from ancient folklore, or anecdotes from history, and beautifully written.
杨女士:是的。粤剧多从古代民间传说和历史轶事改编而来,言辞优美。
