MAY 5. - Worked on the wreck; cut another beam asunder, and brought three great fir planks off from the decks, which I tied together, and made to float on shore when the tide of flood came on.[qh]
五月五日在破船上干活。又锯断了一根船梁。从甲板上取下三块松木板，把板捆在一起，趁涨潮时把它们飘到岸上。[qh]
MAY 6. - Worked on the wreck; got several iron bolts out of her and other pieces of ironwork. Worked very hard, and came home very much tired, and had thoughts of giving it over.[qh]
五月六日继续上破船干活。从船上取下几根铁条和一些铁器。工作得很辛苦，回来时累坏了，很想放弃这种工作。[qh]
MAY 7. - Went to the wreck again, not with an intent to work, but found the weight of the wreck had broke itself down, the beams being cut;[qh]
五月七日又到破船上去，但不想再干活了。由于船梁已锯断，破船已承受不住自己的重量，因此自己碎裂了。[qh]
that several pieces of the ship seemed to lie loose, and the inside of the hold lay so open that I could see into it; but it was almost full of water and sand.[qh]
有几块木板散落下来，船舱裂开，看进去里面尽是水和泥沙。[qh]
May 8.Went to the Wreck,and carried an Iron Crow to wrench up the Deck,which lay now quite clear of the Water or Sand;[qh]
五月八日到破船上去。这次我带了一只起货用的铁钩，撬开了甲板，因为甲板上已没有多少水和沙泥了。[qh]
I wrenched open two Planks,and brought them on Shore also with the Tide:I left the Iron Crow in the Wreck for next Day.[qh]
我撬下了两块木板，像前次那样趁着潮水送上岸。我把起货铁钩留在船上，以便明天再用。[qh]
May 9.Went to the Wreck,and with the Crow made Way into the Body of the Wreck,and felt several Casks,[qh]

and loosened them with the Crow,but could not break them up;[qh]
我用铁钩把这几只桶撬松了，却无法把桶打开。[qh]
I felt also the Roll of English Lead,and could stir it,but it was too heavy to remove.[qh]
我也探到了那卷英国铅皮，并已拨动了，但实在太重了，根本搬不动。[qh]
May 10,11,12,13,14.Went every Day to the Wreck,and got a great deal of Pieces of Timber,and Boards,or Plank,[qh]
五月十日、十一日、十二日、十三日、十四日每天上破船，弄到了不少木料和木板，[qh]
and 2 or 300 Weight of Iron.[qh]

May 15.I carried two Hatchets to try if I could not cut a Piece off of the Roll of Lead,by placing the Edge of one Hatchet,[qh]

and driving it with the other;but as it lay about a Foot and a half in the Water,I could not make any Blow to drive the Hatchet.[qh]

May 16.It had blowed hard in the Night,and the Wreck appeared more broken by the Force of the Water;[qh]
五月十六日刮了一夜大风，风吹浪打后，那条失事的船显得更破烂不堪了。[qh]
but I stayed so long in the Woods to get Pidgeons for Food,that the Tide prevented me going to the Wreck that Day.[qh]
我在树林里找鸽子吃，耽误了不少时间；等我想上船时，潮水已涨了上来，就无法再到船上去了。[qh]
