Chapter Six
第六章
Nothing in my life has ever felt as good as the cool, clear flow of liquid that pulled me out of my dreamless sleep.
一股清凉清澈的液体把我从无梦的沉睡中唤醒，这感觉太舒爽了。
The woman stood over me with a water bottle and was carefully showering me with the sweet spray.
那个女人拿着一瓶水站在我旁边，小心翼翼地向我喷着甜甜的水花。
I shuddered with pleasure as the trickle painted my back,
当涓涓细流把我的背濡湿时，我愉悦得抖动起了身体，
and raised my mouth to lap and bite at the stream the way I’d often attacked the drizzle that fell from the faucet above the trough in the Yard.
我抬起嘴舔着水流，就像我之前尽情享用院子里饮水槽上方的水龙头里流出的水一样。。
A man stood nearby, and both he and the woman were watching me with concerned expressions.
一个男人站在旁边，他和那个女人都带着关切的表情看着我。
“Do you think he’ll be okay?” the woman asked.
“你觉得他会没事吗?”女人问。
“Looks like the water is doing the job,” he replied.
“看起来水起了作用，”他回答说。
From both of them came the sort of open adoration I often felt pouring out of Senora when she stood at the fence to watch us play.
他们两人身上都有一种呼之欲出的磁场，让人感到爱慕，那是夫人在篱笆边看我们玩耍时，经常会散发出来的感觉。
I rolled on my back so the water would wash over my hot tummy, and the woman laughed.
我翻滚成四脚朝天的样子，好让水冲到我热得不行的肚子，这个举动把那个女人逗笑了。
“Such a cute puppy!” the woman exclaimed.
“好可爱的小狗！”女人叫道。
“Do you know what kind it is?” “Looks like a golden retriever,” the man observed.
“你知道这是什么品种吗?”“看起来像一只金毛猎犬，”男人说。
“Oh, puppy,” the woman murmured.
“噢，可爱的小狗，”女人喃喃地说。
Yes, I could be Puppy, I could be Fella, I could be whatever they wanted,
我陶醉于其中，我可以被叫做小狗，也可以叫我伙伴，总之他们喜欢就好，
and when the woman swept me up in her arms, heedless of the wet splat I made against her blouse, I kissed her until she closed her eyes and giggled.
当那个女人把我抱在怀里时，她并不嫌弃我给她的上衣弄上了水。我舔她的时候，她闭上眼睛咯咯笑了起来。。
“You’re coming home with me, little guy. I’ve got someone I want you to meet.”
“和我一起回家吧，小家伙。我想让你见一个人。”
Well, it looked like I was a frontseat dog now! She held me in her lap while she drove, and I gazed up at her in gratitude.
喔，我现在也是一只可以坐在前排的狗啦！她开车时把我抱在双腿上，我抬头感激地望着她。
