In an exhibition of fashion and portraiture celebrating African-American culture, collage artist Yazz Atmore says there's no filter between what she's feeling and what she's showing.

In “Love Staying” Atmore says she's celebrating love and self-love.

It's that enthusiasm and her work with bold colors metallic paints and gold leaf that Shelby says drew her to Atmore.

With local fashion and contributions from a Nigerian pencil artist, the exhibition included Atmore's work “Eden” about each of us finding within us a divine purpose.

Atmore says that she continues to be inspired by her work as a community organizer and that she knew she was on the right track when everything in her first show sold out.
