最近终于把等了很久的Why Women Kill《致命女人》第二部看完了。
很多人说这部没有第一部好看，但我觉得比起第一部的爽剧，这部的剧情给我留下了更深的印象，它其实探讨的是人该如何面对欲望。
这部剧开篇就讲了：
This is about another kind of woman. The middle aged housewife no one ever talks about. She has no beauty to draw upon. No style. No grace. This timid creature moves through life as if invisible.
”这是关于另一种类型的女人，那些没有人提起过的中年家庭妇女。
他们没有可吸引人注意的美貌，没有风格，也不优雅。
这种胆怯的生物在生活里就像是隐形的。“
So this series talks about women whom are not paid attention to. And some of them got lost for excessive attention seeking.
他们觉得这是因为自己不够漂亮或不够有钱。
其中的某一部分人因为过度想得到别人的注意，而迷失在了自己的欲望里。
比如女主Alma，觉得自己不够苗条漂亮，就不配拥有好的人生。
她为了和那群漂亮有钱的富太太玩到一起，无比渴望加入她们的Club。
这种欲望强烈到已经让她走火入魔。
She envies Rita who is pretty and wealthy. She thinks Rita is a tumor for her, causing her no end of pain. So she has to remove her to end her suffering.
她无比嫉妒又美丽又有钱的Rita，觉得Rita就像自己长在身上的毒瘤，只有去掉她才能让自己活得开心。
Rita和那些club姐妹团的人，包括比Alma有钱的邻居，对Alma的看轻更是一步步加深了Alma的仇恨。
在Alma杀死Rita之前，她说出了自己的愤怒：
Women like you always underestimate women like me. Wall flowers. Playing unpopular girls. You don't know what it's like to trudge through life, begging women like you to please just look at me.
I admired you so much. I wanted so badly to be your friend.
Alma说“像你这样的女人总是低估像我这样像墙边的花一样、不受欢迎的女人。
你不知道像我这样的人在生活里的挣扎，不知道我有多羡慕你，多想成为你的朋友。”
而Alma因为受到了身边的人不友好的对待，就把全世界的人都想象成了轻视自己的人。
她使尽浑身解数就是为了能让别人高看自己一眼，哪怕就一眼。
有一个小细节。
在Alma等着大家宣布她是俱乐部新任主席的当晚，
她化了最好看的妆，烫了最好看的头发，抹了最好看的指甲。
当女儿冲进来质疑Alma杀了人，Alma却还只是指责女儿没关注到自己的打扮。
Alma says:
“All the work that I've put in. My hair and my nails, my clothes, so come together, surely you must have noticed.”
“我全身都打扮得那么漂亮，你总该注意到啊。”
对此刻的Alma来说，为了赢得别人的注意，就算她杀了人这件事也不值一提。
当最后她被警察逮捕，她赢得了所有人对她的注意和唾弃，却把他们都幻想成了自己的粉丝。
旁白说的是：
Even the jeers of the crowd crying for her blood, sounded to her like the cheers of adoring fans. Yes, on the day she was sentenced to die, Alma had got what she had wanted her whole life.
People were finally looking at her. And each one of them knew her name. For a middle aged woman who had gone unnoticed for so long, it was truly a happy ending.
就连那些对她的嘲笑jeers，在她听来也像是崇拜她的粉丝的欢呼声cheers。
在她被判死刑的那天，
Alma得到了她一生最想要的东西——人们终于看到了她。
他们每个人都知道她的名字。
旁白说，
对于一个长时间被忽视的中年妇女来说，这是一个圆满的结局。
真是可笑、可怜，又很可悲。
而其实欲望不只是像Alma这样的人会有，就算漂亮如Rita，
她也一直幻想拥有别人有而自己曾经没有的东西，金钱。
Rita says,
My whole family was treated me like trash. One day I asked god to make me rich and beautiful. So people would envy me.
因为自己从小就遭受家暴、家里穷，她觉得只要有钱，就能赢得别人的尊重，甚至是嫉妒。
直到Rita进了监狱，身边曾经恭维她的人一个个都不敢和她粘上一点关系，她才大彻大悟：
Rita says,
When I was sitting in jail, I realized that god gave me everything I wanted. Just so you can take it all away. He wanted to teach me a lesson.
What lesson?
No one is truly beautiful till they learn to love unselfishly. And those who receive such love are the richest people of all.
上帝已经给了自己所有的东西，所以也可以都被带走。
而带不走的是别人对你的爱。
只有当一个人学会了无私地爱，才是真正美丽的。
而那些获得了这种爱的人，就是世界上最富有的人。
这种爱同样也治愈了曾经因为自己胖就觉得不配拥有真爱的Alma的女儿Dee。
后来Dee遇到了深爱自己的侦探男友后，
她才知道自己值得拥有世界上任何的美好，无关乎于自己的身材和相貌，
也才没有遗失在实现不了的欲望里。
希望你们在看完这部剧以后也能感受到这样一份力量：
No one is truly beautiful till they learn to love unselfishly.
And those who receive such love are the richest people of all.
