欢迎收看《每日语法》栏目,我是露西佳。
And I'm Kaveh. And today we'll give you a quick introduction to using articles.
我是卡维,今天我们会快速介绍一下冠词的用法。
Listen for the words a, an, and the in the conversation.
听下面的对话中涉及到的冠词a/an/the。
Kaveh, I went to the movies last night.
卡维,我昨晚去看电影了。
Oh, really? What did you see?
噢,是吗?看了哪部?
I saw the new Matt Damon movie, "the Martian."
看了新出的马特·达蒙主演的电影《火星救援》
Is it about a Martian? An actual Martian?
是关于火星人的吗?真正的火星人?
No, it's about an astronaut who goes to Mars.
不是,是关于一个去到火星的宇航员的故事,
After a storm his crew gets away but then he's stranded on the planet. Then…
在一次风暴之后,他的同伴都撤离了,只有他滞留在火星人,再后来…
No, no, no! Please. Don't spoil it for me. I don't want to know how the movie ends.
停停停!别再剧透啦,我不想知道电影的结局。
A, "an" and "the" are called articles. These three little words cause big trouble for English learners.
其中a/an/the就是冠词,这三个词虽小,但却能给英语学习者带来大麻烦。
Let's start with the difference between a and an.
那我们从a和an开始讲,
"A" is used before singular nouns starting with a consonant sound:
a用在以辅音开头的单数名词前,例如:
Is it about a Martian?
是有关火星人的吗?
An is used before singular nouns beginning with a vowel sound.
an用在以元音开头的单数名词前,例如:
No, it's about an astronaut.
不是,是关于宇航员的。
A and an are called indefinite articles.
A和an称为不定冠词,
When you say "a movie," you could be talking about any movie in the world.
你说a movie(一部电影)时,你谈到的可能是任何一部电影。
The is called the definite article.
The是定冠词,
It means the speaker and the listener are thinking about the same specific thing.
意指说话者和听话者之间想到的是同一件具体的事,
If you say, The movie starts at 7:00.
如果你说:电影7:00开始。
It means we are both thinking about the same movie.
这里的the就意味着你们想到的是同一部电影。
And that's Everyday Grammar.
