A couple of years ago, I went to Tokyo with my husband

We wondered why they didn't make a bigger restaurant and be the most popular place in town.

Our local friends explained to us that all the best restaurants in Tokyo are that small,

and do only one type of dish--sushi or tempura or teriyaki.
而且他们都只专注于一道菜 要么寿司 要么天妇罗 或着照烧
Because they want to do that thing well and beautifully.
因为他们想把那道菜做精做美
And it's not about quantity,
这跟数量没关系
it's about taking pleasure in the perfection and beauty of the particular.
而是在追求某事的美和极致过程中享受快乐
I'm still learning now, that it's about good and maybe never done.
我也仍然在学习 学习怎样做的更好 而不仅仅做完
That the joy, and work ethic, and virtuosity we bring to the particular
做某件事时的快乐 敬业和炉火纯青
can impart a singular type of enjoyment to those we give to,
能为我们服务的对象带来一种非凡的享受
and of course, to ourselves.
