China, US hold first joint exercise in Atlantic

The Chinese and US navies have held the first joint exercise in the Atlantic at the southeast region of Mayport in Florida.
Six navy vessels from both countries participated in the drill, including a guided missile destroyer, a guided missile frigate and a supply ship from the Chinese navy, together with two guided missile destroyers and a cruiser from the US navy. Both sides have carried out exercises on communication, warships formation and joint rescues.
The drill aims to improve coordination and deepen mutual trust between both forces.
