Going to Blue National Park, you cannot afford to miss seeing the amazing wildlife and rare plants here. Seals, penguins, dolphins and whales are all seen at various times, with Australian fur seals using the rugged coastline for breeding and resting. The waters off the bay contain vast forests of Macrocystis kelp, which is one of the fastest growing organisms on Earth. These grandeur underwater forests are among the most beautiful in the world, and are highly valued by divers. The park also contains a number of plant species found nowhere else in the world. Check out the pictures of these rare plants on your brochure to see if you are lucky enough to find them today.
I know most of you come to the National Park for Mt. Field. There, you will see the tall trees at the base of the mountain and the unique alpine plants at its summit. The wheelchair grade walk to Russsell Falls is the most popular track in the park. For many people, this waterfall is the prettiest in Blue National Park. Don't miss it. For the local residents, Mt. Field is a close and well-love skiing venue. During winter months, twos operate on the slopes; since there is no guarantee that they will be operating it is best to check the Southern Ski Association web site.
