Hi Dr. Jill! What's on your mind today? [qh]
嗨,吉尔博士!你今天有什么想法?[qh]
I recently went to a farmer's market. I heard so many people discussing prices. It's an important subject to explore. [qh]
我最近去了一家农贸市场
You know, Dr. Jill, I love comparisons. They really help make learning more enjoyable.[qh]
你知道吗,吉尔博士,我喜欢比较学习,这真的有助于让学习变得更愉快
When I teach about price discussions, I like to make a comparison to a movie. Let's call our movie "Price Questions". [qh]
当我讲授价格讨论时,我喜欢把它比作一部电影
The star of our film is "how much". "how much" often appears in questions about prices, just like a main actor appears in many of the scenes in a movie.[qh]
我们这部电影的主演是“how much”
If we continue the comparison, we could say that the verb "cost" is the most important supporting actor.[qh]
如果我们继续比较,我们可以说动词“cost”是最重要的配角
But sometimes it is left out, just like how a supporting actor might appear in fewer scenes in a film. [qh]
但有时它会被遗漏,就像配角可能会出现在电影中的较少场景一样
Finally, we have a few background actors. You might not notice them as much. These are words such as "do," "be," "that," "it," or "this."[qh]
最后,我们有几个背景演员
Let's take an example: How much does this cost? The general order of appearance is this: How much+helping verb+subject+main verb(cost).[qh]
让我们举个例子:. How much does this cost? 一般的顺序是how much+助动词+主要动词(cost)
There is much more to say about price discussions, but we will have to cover those issues in a future lesson. [qh]
关于价格讨论还有很多要说的,但我们会在未来的课程中讨论这些问题
And that's everyday grammar TV.[qh]
