The thought of a house of a certain construction, if it were impressed upon Formless Substance,
当某一独特的建筑给无形的物质留下深刻的印象之后，譬如说房子，
might not cause the instant formation, of the house;
无形的物质并不能马上便将这一思想转变为实体，
but it would cause the turning of creative energies already working in trade and commerce into such channels
但它却能将已经投入到商业和贸易中的创造性能量转移到建筑这一模型上来，
as to result in the speedy building of the house.
而这一行动的最终结果就是房子的快速落成。
And if there were no existing channels through which the creative energy could work,
如果这时世上还没有现成的模型可供创造性能量工作，
then the house would be formed directly from primal substance, without waiting for the slow processes of the organic and inorganic world.
无形的物质便会直接利用源物质直接建造房屋，而不再等待各种有机物和无机物形成，因为那将会是--个十分缓慢的过程。
No thought of form can be impressed upon Orig inal Substance without causing the creation of the, form.
任何关于形体的想法，一旦出现，母体就决不会让它无功而返，其结果必然是一种新形体的诞生。
Man is a thinking center, and can originate thought.
人类就是各种思想的中心，同时他也能够生成各种想法和观念。
All the forms that man fashions with his hands must first exist in his thought;
凡是经人类之手创造出来的物体，最初都是人类脑海里的一个想法或概念。
he cannot shape a thing until he has thought that thing.
在这一想法或概念尚未成形之前，谁都无法将其变为现实当中的实体物质。
And so far man has confined his efforts wholly to the work of his hands;
不过，遗憾的是，至今为止，人类的这一创造性活动仅限于手工劳动。
he has applied manual labor to the world of forms, seeking to change or modify those already existing.
一直以来，人们都是掌双手去创造新事物，以及对已有事物进行改变或修饰，
He has never thought of trying to cause the creation of new forms by impress ing his thoughts upon Formless Substance.
却从未思考过如何通过将思想作用于无形的物质来创造新生事物。
When man has a thought- form, he takes material from the forms of nature, and makes an image of the form which is in his mind.
当人类掌握了这一思想力量之后，他就可以直接从自然取材，然后将其加工成自己脑海中的形式。
He has, so far, made little or no effort to co-operate with Formless Intelligence; to work "with the Father."
至今为止，人类还几乎从未与这一无形的智慧结盟，与创造自己的“祖辈”一起工作过。
He has not dreamed that he can "do what he seeth the Father doing."

Man reshapes and modifies existing forms by manual labor,

he has given no attention to the question whether he may not produce things from Formless Substance by communicating his thoughts to it.
却从未考虑过自己能否通过与自我思想的交流，直接利用无形的物质去完成这一切。
We propose to prove that he may do so; to prove that any man or woman may do so, and to show how.
在此，我强烈建议我们每个人都认真思考这一问题，并努力将之付诸实践。
As our first step, we must lay down three fundamental propositions.

First, we assert that there is one original formless stuff, or substance, from which all things are made.

All the seemingly many elements are but different presentations of one element;

all the many forms found in organic and inorganic nature are but different shapes, made from the same stuff.
自然界当中所有已经发现的无机物和有机物，事实上都是由同一种物质构成的，只不过表现形式不同而已，
And this stuff is thinking stuff; a thought held in it produces the form of the thought.
而这一物质就是我们前文所说的会思考的源物质。
Thought, in thinking substance, produces shapes.
该物质的思想首先产生了这一思想的承载形体。
Man is a thinking center, capable of original thought; if man can communicate his thought to original thinking substance,
人是思考的中心，有独创性的思想能力，如果人类能够让自己的思想与这一会思考的源物质进行交流，
he can cause the creation, or formation, of the thing he thinks about.
那他就能将所有他的想法都创造成，或者说制造成，现实世界当中的实体事物。
To summarize this - There is a thinking stuyff from which all things are made, and which,
总结一下，即:有一种会思考的源物质，世上所有事物的形成皆源自于它。
in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.
最初，这一物质本是宇宙的填充物，宇宙的每一丝空隙都由它占据着。
A thought, in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
首先，在这种物质当中出现了思想：接着，思想再按照其想像的模式制造出世间万物。
Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.
人类的思想可造万物，而且通过让自己的思想作用于无形的源物质，人类就能够将脑海中的想像变为现实。
It may be asked if I can prove these statements; and without going into details,
写到这儿，我知道，有人可能会问：你是否能够证明自己的这些观点呢？
I answer that I can do so, both by logic and experience.
我的回答是，我完全可以从逻辑和经验两个方面同时进行简要的证明。
Reasoning back from the phenomena of form and thought, I come to one original thinking substance;
就让我们从物质与思想的现象开始论证吧。有一种能够思考的源物质，
and reasoning forward from this thinking substance, I come to man's power to cause the formation of the thing he thinks about.
从这一点，我便可以推断出人类具有将自己的思想转变为现实的能力。
And by experiment, I find the reasoning true; and this is my strongest proof.
而通过试验，我发现这一推理是正确的。这也成为支撑我观点的最强有力的证据。
