Hello, I'm Emma from English!

大家好,我是艾玛!
In this lesson, you'll learn how to use these little, useful words correctly in English sentences.
本节课,你将学习如何在英语句子中正确使用这些小而有用的单词。
Both of these words indicate a degree.
这两个词都表示一个程度。
They give us more information about an adjective or an adverb or a noun.
他们给我们更多关于形容词、副词或名词的信息。
So, here 'too' means that it is more than what is wanted or what is needed.
所以,这里“too”的意思是它比我们想要的或需要的更多。
So, it's usually a negative thing!
所以,它通常是负面的事情!
You are more hungry than you want to be!
你比你想要的更饿!

This is really frustrating for you because you can't concentrate!

这真的让你很沮丧,因为你无法集中注意力!
So here, 'enough' tells us that it is the amount that we want or we need.
这里,enough表示我们想要或需要的量。
It's the right amount and this is a positive thing!
这是正确的数量,这是一个积极的事情!
You have what is needed, you are good enough.
你有你所需要的,你已经足够好了。
Ouch! That is really mean!
哎哟!那太卑鄙了!
Not enough means that it is less than the amount that you want or you need.
Not enough意思是比你想要或需要的少。
It's a really negative thing.
这是一件非常消极的事情。
It's a pretty mean thing to say.
这话说得太刻薄了。
So, let's look at the structures for each of these words with adjectives and adverbs first.
那么,让我们先来看看这些带有形容词和副词的单词的结构。
So, 'too' comes before an adjective or an adverb.
所以,too放在形容词或副词之前。
Remember that using 'too' with an adjective or an adverb usually suggests that it's a negative thing.
记住,too和形容词或副词连用通常表示否定意义。
It's more than what is wanted or needed.
它比我们想要或需要的更多。
So, it's not correct to say that the movie was 'too good' when you really enjoyed it!
所以,当你真正喜欢这部电影时,说它“太好了”是不正确的!
It's also not correct to say that your friend is 'too funny'.
说你的朋友“太有趣”也是不正确的。
It sounds really strange to native English speakers
对以英语为母语的人来说,这听起来真的很奇怪,
because it suggests that it's more than what you want or what you need it to be.
因为这表明它比你想要的或你需要的要多。
Use 'really' or 'very' or 'so' instead.
用“really”或“very”或“so”代替。
That sounds better!
这听起来比较好!
There are some exceptions to this though, when you're speaking colloquially –
但也有一些例外,当你说口语的时候——
especially in Australia, where I'm from!
尤其是在澳大利亚,我来自那里!
Like... For example, if someone asked me,”How are you?”
喜欢……例如,如果有人问我,“你好吗?”
I'd probably say,”Not too bad.”
我可能会说,“还不错。”
This is really common in Australia and it means 'good' but that's an exception.
这在澳大利亚很常见,它的意思是“好”,但那是个例外。
Okay, what about 'enough'?
好吧,那“够了”呢?
'Enough' comes after the adjective or the adverb.
Enough跟在形容词或副词之后。
Now, what about when 'enough' is used in a negative sentence?
那么,当enough用于否定句时呢?
'Enough' comes after the adjective or the adverb but 'not' comes before.
Enough放在形容词或副词之后,not放在前面。
And this has the same meaning as 'I'm too weak'....
这句话的意思和“我太弱了”是一样的……
Which means 'it's too cold'!
意思是“太冷了”!
You can also use 'too' and 'enough' with nouns.
你也可以用too和enough来修饰名词。
So again, this means that we have more of the noun than we want or we need.
再一次,这意味着我们有比我们想要或需要更多的名词。
You would choose 'many' if the noun was countable.
如果名词是可数的,你要选择many。
And you would choose 'much' if the noun was uncountable.
如果名词是不可数名词,你要选择much。
Now, if you are not sure about which nouns are countable and which are uncountable,
现在,如果你不确定哪些名词是可数名词,哪些是不可数名词,
you should check out this lesson right here because I'll explain it for you there!
那么你应该看看这节课,因为我将为你解释!
So, what about 'enough'?
那么,“enough”呢?
Well, with a noun 'enough' comes before the noun.
嗯,在名词前加enough。
Again, this means that we have the right amount, the amount that we want and that we need.
同样,这意味着我们有合适的量,我们想要的量和我们需要的量。
And to make these sentences negative we add 'not' - usually before the main verb.
为了使这些句子表示否定,我们在主动词前加上not。
The 'be' verb is a bit of an exception here, to the rule.
“be”动词在这里是规则的一个例外。
The structure is a little different.
结构有点不同。
When the 'be' verb is the main verb, then 'not' comes after the main verb.
当be动词是主动词时,not放在主动词之后。
So, these handy little words will definitely help you to express yourself more clearly in English
所以,这些方便的小单词一定会帮助你更清楚地用英语表达自己
and now you know exactly how to use them correctly.
现在你知道如何正确使用它们了。
Make sure you practise them.
一定要练习。
Write some examples if you want, add them in the comments below!
写一些例子,如果你想,把它们添加到评论下面!
Remember that 'too' means that it's more than the necessary amount.
记住,too的意思是超出了必要的数量。
'Enough' is the necessary amount, it's the exact amount.
“'Enough”是必要的量,确切的量。
And 'not enough' is less than the necessary amount.
而“'not enough”就是少于必要的数量。
