This is Everyday Grammar. I'm Lucija.
欢迎收看《每日语法》栏目,我是露西佳。
And I'm Kaveh. All sentences in the English language contain a subject and a verb.
我是卡维。英语中的所有句子都包含一个主语和一个动词。
Kaveh, I think we know that already.
卡维,这个我们已经知道了。
Yeah, but did you know that the verb may or may not be followed by a direct object?
好吧,那你知道动词可能不跟直接宾语吗?
What do you mean?
什么意思?
Well, let's talk about the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs and you'll find out!
我们先讨论一下及物动词和非及物动词的区别,你就知道了。
The girl cried.
女孩哭了。
So, what did you notice about this sentence?
关于这个句子,你注意到了什么?
Well, there's no object after the verb.
它的动词后没有宾语。
Exactly. Verbs that are not followed by an object are called intransitive verbs.
太对了。不接宾语的动词叫做不及物动词。
Some common intransitive verbs are:
有一些普通的不及物动词如下:
agree, arrive, come, cry, exist, go, happen, live, occur, rain, rise, sleep, stay, walk.
agree(同意),arrive(到达),come(来),cry(哭),exist(存在), go(走), happen(发生), live(居住), occur(发生), rain(下雨), rise(上升), sleep(睡觉), stay(停留), walk(步行)。
So that means verbs that are followed by an object are called transitive verbs.
那么这就意味着接宾语的动词叫做及物动词。
Common transitive verbs are:
普通的及物动词如下:
build, cut, find, like, make, need, send, use, want.
build(建立), cut(切割), find(查找), like(喜欢), make(制造), need(需要), send(发送), use(使用), want(需要)。
Can verbs be transitive and intransitive?
那动词可能既是及物动词又是不及物动词吗?
There are few verbs that have both transitive and intransitive meanings.
有几个动词既有及物动词的含义又有不及物动词的含义。
For examples, "I sang a song." is transitive.
例如:“我唱歌。”(sang是及物动词)
"I sang." is intransitive.
“我唱歌。”(sang是不及物动词)
And that's Everyday Grammar.
