New Zealand Zoo Will Not Euthanize Tiger

A Sumatran tiger that attacked and killed a zookeeper in Hamilton, New Zealand this September will not be euthanized. The New Zealand zoo says that Oz, a ten-year-old male tiger, is an important part of the zoo’s breeding program and poses no danger to the public. The tiger species, which is native to Indonesia, is critically endangered in the wild.
