The Nightmare Machine is an artificial intelligence project created by three researchers at the MIT Media Lab.

They've figured out "how to create the most horrifying human faces possible" with the help of deep learning algorithms.

The scariest images look like faces from hell with flayed skin, blood, and blackened eye sockets.
