143.寻找室友
"Dude, what's up with all the spending lately? You seem to be really living it up!
"杜德，最近花那么多钱都在干什么？你好像真的亨受了一番！
I thought you were living on a limited budget!" Daniel asked as he locked up his gym locker and put his locker key in his pocket.
我还以为你经济拮据呢！"丹尼尔边说边把衣物柜锁起来,将衣物柜钥匙放进口袋里。
"It's true that I live from hand to mouth, but just because I bought a new car, a new golf club set and a new 32 inch TV doesn't mean that I'm living beyond my means! I put it all on the credit card!"
"我手头拮据是真的，但是买一部新车、一套新的高尔夫俱乐部的行头和一台新的32寸电视机并不等于我入不敷出！我把一切都记在信用卡上啦！"
Dude replied with a smile as he picked up his own gym bag and started to walk out with Daniel.
杜德笑着答道，他拿起自己的运动包，开始和丹尼尔一起往外走。
"Aw, no, man! That's awful! If you think that's good, then you're living a lie!
"啊，不，伙计！那太可怕了！如果你认为那样很好，那么你就是在过骗人的生活！
Don't you know that those cards have huge interest rates?
你不知道那些卡利息髙得吓人吗？
And that if you pay the things you buy off little by little, you're going to be making payments forever!" Daniel said emphatically.
如果你一点一点地还那些你买东西的钱，你得还一辈子的！"丹尼尔强调说。
"It's not that bad! And I know that they link the low payments together with higher interest rates.
"没有你说的那么糟！我知道他们把低付费和髙利息联系在一起。
But I'm going to remodel my living quarters next week and split the living room in two!
但我下周就要改造我的生活区,把起居室一分为二了！
Then I can rent out a room to another student and pass that income directly on to pay the credit card off!"
这样我就能把一间房出租给另外一个学生，直接把租金拿去还掉那些钱！"
"Aha, I see. I was listening for some intelligent reason in your answer!
"啊哈，我明白了。我还在留神等着听你说出一个明智的理由呢！
So in a way you're living by your own wits! Finding new ways to make money creatively!" Daniel said relaxing a bit.
所以从某种意义上来说，你是在靠耍小聪明骗人过生活!你在想新的办法出奇不意地赚钱！"丹尼尔松了口气说。
"Yep. And I'm also just tired of living by myself.
是的，我也厌倦一个人住了。
A roommate will help around the house, watch movies with me, or just live together."
找个室友可以给我在家里帮帮手，可以陪我看电影，或者就是住在一起。"
"Little things please little minds!" Daniel said.
"小人无大忐！ "丹尔尼说。
"Well I hope that your new roommate lives up to your expectations!" "Me too!"
