A member of the public who met the couple shared a video of her conversation with the Duchess on Instagram, asking: “Are you excited for Meghan and her new baby?”

Kate's comments follow rumours of a feud which were fuelled by the announcement that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be moving from Kensington House to Windsor Castle.

Next year, the couple and their new baby, which is due in March, will reside in Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, which is located close to where they celebrated their wedding reception at Frogmore House in May.

A spokesman for the couple said: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate. The Duke and Duchess's office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace."
