参考答案:
In Chinese culture, red usually represents good fortune, longevity and happiness. Red can be found everywhere during Chinese Spring Festival and on other joyous occasions. When people present cash to family members or intimate friends as a gift, they often put it in red envelopes. Another reason for the popularity of red in China is that people associate it with the Chinese Revolution and Communist Party. Nevertheless, red doesn't always symbolize good luck and joy in that the name of the dead used to be written in red. Consequently, it is regarded as an offense to write the names of Chinese people in red ink.
