Iran's Navy says it will hold a drill in a strategically important Strait of Hormuz. It comes months after the United States re-imposed the sanctions on Iran targeting its vital oil sector. The Strait is located at a mouth of the Persian Gulf and is crucial to global energy supplies with about 1/3 of all oil traded at sea passing through it. An Iranian military official says the three-day maneuvers will start on Friday and extend as far as the sea of Oman and the fringes of the Indian Ocean.
