Hawaii ranked the happiest state in America.
Personal finance website Wallet Hub "examined" 50 states across 31 key metrics including depression rate and sports participation rate to determine which environmental factors are linked to a person's overall well being.
Residents in the aloha state were found to be the most satisfied with life. Utah in second overall, with the highest volunteer rate and fewest work hours. Followed by Minnesota, North Dakota, and California.
Reps for Wallet Hub say their findings prove money does not drive happiness. But explain where folks choose to live "can have a big influence on how we feel about life."
