37 people including 12 Chinese citizens were injured. About 40 fire trucks and more than a hundred firefighters were sent to extinguish the blaze. The fire started at about 1:00 p.m. local time in the building's underground parking garage.
The flames and black smoke were seen rising from the building. A fire official said painting work had been done in the underground level earlier in the day and a lot of flammable materials were inside the building.
