Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods will close on Monday and to mark the occasion prices on items including organic avocados, bananas, organic baby kale and organic salmon will come down on that day. The goal, according to a press release from both companies, is to "make organic food more affordable for everyone."
Looking ahead, the Seattle company hopes to give Amazon Prime members special savings and other in-store benefits.
By buying Whole Foods for close to $14 billion, Amazon is taking a bold step into the brick-and-mortar space, which is sure to change the landscape of the grocery sector.
