A hearing on security for Chinese-Americans was held on Monday in Philadelphia in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, relating to a rise in violence.
This is the first hearing related to Chinese-American issues in the city. Robberies of Chinese-owned shops are increasing, and more than 100 such incidents were reported entering 2016.
Eight city councillors attended the hearing, along with local law-enforcement departments. This comes after Philadelphia saw its first armed parade to protest crimes against Chinese-Americans two weeks ago.
