China's Feng Yun 3 weather satellite is scheduled to be launched on Tuesday noon.
The 2300kg weight satellite will be carried by a Long March 4C rocket and launched at the Taiyuan satellite launch center in northern Shanxi Province.
Gao Huoshan is the general director of the satellite program.
"The Feng Yun 3 will carry 11 remote sensors by which intermediate-term weather forecasting and global climate research can be deployed."
Gao said the satellite can also better serve as a natural disaster predictor and can provide more precise weather forecast for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
Feng Yun 3 is a second generation polar-orbiting meteorological satellites made by China. It carries a dozen of equipment and can work in all weather conditions and cover the whole globe of the earth.
