Like many parents, I spend most of my weekends standing on the side-lines, supporting my kids as they play football.

And whilst you want to cheer them on, some parents can take it too far.
Reports of this kind of behaviour are on the rise in grassroots football, according to the campaign group Kick It Out.
And so, following on from the FA, some clubs have started bringing in their own silent support matches.
On the pitches behind me are three Under9 Girls League games, and for the next 50 minutes, the only sound these players should be hearing from the side-lines is clapping.

Is it hard to keep up with the silence?

It is when it's a very close game, I guess. And when there's challenges that you feel like you want to shout out and support your children.
Back in Partington, the final whistle is blown, for a 6-3 win for the visitors.
So, today you had one of your silent side-lines matches. What's it like to play in one of those games?
It's good because we don't have like parents telling us what to do, so we can like tell each other, because sometimes we know better than the parents.
