FIFA, the organisation which runs the World Cup, has announced Saudi Arabia as the host of the 2034 men's tournament in a ceremony in Zurich.

It's a country in the Middle East officially called the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Plans sent by Saudi Arabia to FIFA offer 15 stadiums across five cities to host the tournament, one of which will be the futuristic NEOM Stadium, planned to be built 350m above ground.

This decision to give it to Saudi Arabia is very controversial.

Firstly, how they treat people in their country.

Many of them come from India, Bangladesh and Nepal, and thousands of injuries and deaths have already been reported.

Saudi Arabia say they hope that by putting on the World Cup, that's going to lead to positive changes in the country.

And remember, that part of the world is very, very hot in the summer. So just like the last tournament in Qatar, expect this World Cup to be moved to the winter as well.
