This is the African lion, "king of the jungle", which is odd because they don't live in jungles.

Today you can find lions in a small region of India, but mostly in Africa, in a few places south of the Sahara Desert.

Phew, yes! The roar is very important, warning off other lions in their territory and it keeps everyone together.
