We wish people well in two general ways: sentence fragments and complete sentences.
我们通常以两种方式祝福人们：句子片段和完整的句子。
A fragment is a kind of incomplete sentence, meaning it is missing either a subject or a predicate.
句子片断是一种不完整的句子，意思是它没有主语或谓语。
When we wish people well, the fragments we use generally only consist of a predicate or part of a predicate.
当我们祝愿人们一切顺利时，我们使用的句子片段通常只由一个谓语或部分谓语组成。
The subject is missing.
缺少主语。
Here's an example: I have an English test tomorrow. Good luck!
下面有一个例子：我明天有一场英语考试。好运！
"Good luck" consists of the noun luck and the adjective good.
“Good luck”由名词“luck”和形容词“good”组成。
Notice that there is no subject or verb.
注意，这句话没有主语和动词。
"Good luck" suggests the following complete sentence: "I wish you good luck."
“Good luck”完整的形式是：“I wish you good luck.（祝你好运。）”
But we do not often use the "I wish you..." part because it is understood between the speakers.

We can also expand fragments with different kinds of modifiers.

Exactly, so you might hear a person say, "Good luck on the test next week," or "Good luck with your job interview."
