58-year-old Lawrence Faucette underwent a transplant with a genetically modified pig heart about 6 weeks ago, but today doctors say he died.

Faucette had terminal heart disease, doctors say, "he received the transplant back on September 20 and initially made significant progress:

but doctors at the University of Maryland Medical Center say he showed signs in recent days that his body was rejecting the heart.
