The Frog and the Ox
青蛙与牛
"Oh Father," said a little Frog to the big one sitting by the side of a pool, "I have seen such a terrible monster!
“哦，爸爸，”一只小青蛙对坐在池塘旁的大青蛙说，“我看见一只可怕的庞然大物！
It was as big as a mountain, with horns on its head, and a long tail, and it had hoofs divided in two."

"Tush, child, tush," said the old Frog, "that was only Farmer White's Ox.

"Was he as big as that?" asked he.

"Bigger, father, bigger," was the reply.
小青蛙答道：“比你大，爸爸，比你大”。
So the Frog took a deep breath, and blew and blew and blew, and swelled and swelled and swelled.
于是，老青蛙深深地吸了一口气，又吹呀，吹呀，吹呀，胀呀，胀呀，胀呀。
And then he said: "I'm sure the Ox is not as big as this."
然后他说：“我敢肯定牛没有我这么大。”
But at this moment he burst.
但就在这时，他胀破了。
Self-conceit may lead to self-destruction.
自高自大会导致自我毁灭。
