So a new year means new goals, new opportunities, new experiences

and maybe for some of you

this even means to move to a different city or country

and we all know that having friends in a different country or city

makes everything 100 times better

so I thought what better way than to start off the year with a video

about how to make friends in Japan
关于在日本如何交朋友的视频开始新的一年更好的呢
So my first tip is going to these international exchange parties/events
我的第一个建议呢，就是去参加这些国际交流活动啊聚会啊什么的
I will link some sites down below that I recommend
我会把我推荐的一些网站放在 下面
so check them out if you are interested
感兴趣的话大家可以去看一看
Some of these international events may consist of partying, drinking, clubbing
有些活动可能会有聚会啊、喝酒啊、俱乐部活动什么的
and if you're not really in that scene
如果你不是很喜欢这些的话
then I recommend you to go check out your local ward's cultural events
那我建议你去看看当地社区组织的一些文化活动
and it's a great way to get to know your neighbours
这是了解左邻右舍的一个好法子
and you can really connect with the locals
而且你能够真正地和当地人交流
Tip 2 is using online websites
第二个建议就是去一些网站
Websites such as My Language Exchange, Couchsurfing, Meetup
这类网站有My Language Exchange, Couchsurfing, Meetup等等
So basically you find a language partner
一般来讲就是找一个学语言的伙伴
and you help each other out with the languages you are studying
你们互相帮助对方学习你正在学习的语言
and for the next website - couchsurfing
对于接下来的couchsurfing这个网站的话
it's a website that provides a platform for members to surf on couches
这个网站为用户提供了一个沙发客平台
by staying as a guest at a host's home or host travellers or join an event
可以帮助大家成为沙发客或是参加一些活动
So if you are travelling to Japan
如果你要来日本旅游的话
maybe you can get free accommodation
或许你能从上面获取一些免费的住宿
and also make some really cool Japanese friends
还可能交到一些很棒的日本朋友
This third website is probably one of my favourite websites
第三个网站可能也是我最喜欢的网站
it's called meetup.com
它的名字叫meetup.com
on meetup, there are lots of groups and events out there
这个网站有很多小组，也有很多活动
so you just find a group that interests you
你只要加入你感兴趣的小组
and you will make some friends with common interests
就能找到跟你志同道合的朋友
Now I heard that in America a lot of people use meetup as a site for hooking up
我听说在美国有很多人都把这个网站当成了约会网站
and I just wanted to say in Japan it is not like that
但是我想说在日本不是这样的
it is a site where people genuinely go to meet new friends
在这里这个网站的用户都是真心想要认识新朋友的
However, you will have people that go there just for hooking up
但是，也能遇到把它当约会网站的人
but it's a rare case
只是这种情况很少
Now if you want to avoid that
如果大家想避免遇到这种情况的话
I really recommend you to try out not just the socialising event or partying event
那我强烈建议大家除了那些社交活动，聚会活动
but an event like sports or cultural events or something like that
大家HIA可以去尝试一些运动活动啊，文化活动之类的
and you will meet some more genuine people that go there for the event,
这样就能遇到真心为了活动前来的人
not for socialising and hooking up
而不是想来约会的人
Okay, and the last tip for you guys is try going to pubs or bars
好了，最后一个建议就是取酒吧之类的地方
Like any other country, pubs and bars are a great way to meet new people
日本跟其他国家一样，酒吧是结交朋友的一个好地方
so if you are coming to Japan
所以如果你要来日本
whether it is for travelling or you are living here
不管是来旅游还是生活
I really recommend you to check out the HUB
我都强烈建议你们去HUB这个酒吧
This is one of the most popular bars in Japan
这是日本最受欢迎的酒吧之一
So I actually live in Tokyo and I found some really great pubs and bars here
我住在东京，而且我发现这里有一些很不错的酒吧
so I will link that down below for you guys to check out

and if you guys aren't from Tokyo,
