D: Hi guys, since last time we talked about places you could visit in the UK. This time we thought it might be nice to help you feel comfortable when sorting out your hotel for your stay.

C:上次我们推荐了一些英国该去的美景地，那这次我们就要来帮助你怎样顺利的解决酒店的问题。

D: These days we often book hotel rooms online, but if you prefer we’d like to help you feel confident ringing the hotel to book a room too. And in many small towns it may be the only way to book a hotel.

C:现在呢我们都习惯了在线预订酒店，但是你也可以通过打酒店的电话来预订房间，因为在很多英国的小镇上很多酒店是没有网上预订服务的，你只能通过电话预约的形式，所以技多不压身，我们这期节目也许会在不久的将来帮到你哦。

D: So the first phrase we’d like to practice with you is: “Hi I’d like to make a reservation please for October the 10th please.”

C:所以第一个有用的句子我们可以一起来练习一下。

“Hi I’d like to make a reservation please for October the 10th ”please ”

您好。我想预订10月10号的房间

D: That’s right, then they will most likely ask you “For how many nights?” Or “How long would you like to stay?”

C:对方可能会回复你。

要住多少晚？你要住多久？

For how many nights Or How long would you like to stay

D: For this example let’s say: “I’d like to stay for 3 nights please.” Notice we use “stay”for hotels. Many of my students just directly translate as “live” but we can’t use that for staying at a hotel.

C:我想住3个晚上。 在这里我们要注意一点，需要用stay 表示住，不可以说live 很多中国的学生可能会惯性思维的用live这次单词。但这是不对的哦

D: Then they’d probably ask you: “What type of room would you like?” or “How many people will be staying?”

C: 接着他们会问你，

“What type of room would you like?”你想要什么房型？“How many people will be staying?”你有几个人要住？

D: Here let’s simply say: “It will just be me & my wife. We’d like a double room please.”Notice here we could also ask for a single room, a twin room, or a suite.

C: 你可以说：只有我和妻子一起，我们要一个双人房(一张大床)double room。当然 ，我们也可以说single room 单人间 a twin room 双人房（两张单人床） ，或者a suite 豪华套房

D: After that if they have a free room they may say: “No problem, so that’s a double room for 3 nights from October the 10th, is that correct?”

C: 最后 他们通常会再复述一遍你的要求, 这个时候要听清楚是不是符合你刚才说的

D: at which point we could find out how much it’s going to cost.“That’s right, yes. How much would that be?” and they’d probably answer something like : “Our nightly rate for a double room is ￡45, so that would be ￡135 in total, and that includes tax.”

C:然后你可以说多少钱？通常他们会告诉你每晚的价格，然后会把加税后的总价报给你
