Forecasters say heavy rain will continue to hit South China but the overall rainfall is expected to weaken.
Heavy rain is predicted to hit parts of Yunnan, Guangxi and Zhejiang on Thursday. On Wednesday, Chongqing had more than 30 millimeters of rainfall in half an hour. Water flooded low-lying areas, endangering residents.
Meanwhile, torrential rain also hit Hunan Province, forcing staff and students in a kindergarten to evacuate. Strong winds damaged crops and crop covers. The rain caused traffic jams in China's Southwest Guizhou province. The queues of cars stretched hundreds of meters.
