感谢上帝

A 4-year-old boy was asked to return thanks before Thanksgiving dinner.
感恩节时，一个4岁的小男孩要做餐前感恩祈祷。

The family members bowed their heads in expectation.
全家人低着头，期待着。

He began his prayer, thanking the Lord for all his friends, naming them one by one.
他开始祷告，他代朋友们对上帝感恩，并挨个提到他们的名字。

Then he thanked the Lord for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his anuts and uncles.
然后，他代妈妈、爸爸、兄弟姐妹、爷爷、奶奶，还有所有的叔叔、阿姨对上帝感恩。

Then he began to thank the Lord for the food.
然后，他感谢上帝赐予他的食物，

He gave thanks for the turkey, the dressing, the fruit salad, the cranberry sauce, the pies, the cakes, even the Cool Whip.

Then he paused, and everyone waited--and waited.

After a long silence, the young fellow looked up at his mother and asked,

"If I thank the Lord for the broccoli, won't He know that I'm lying?"
