【词义辨析】
break, destroy, ruin, wreck, damage, spoil
这些动词均有“破坏,损坏”之意。
break普通用词,指某物因被打破或撕破而受到破坏,可指有形或无形的破坏。
destroy多指彻底地、毁灭性地破坏,含导致无用,不能或很难再修复的意味。
ruin多指因外部原因而受到严重破坏或毁灭,侧重破坏的彻底性,也可用于引申意义。
wreck侧重指船只、车辆、房屋等受到严重破坏或完全毁坏,也可指计划、健康受到损害。
damage多指对无生命物体的损害,造成降低价值、破坏功能等后果。
spoil强调不仅会削弱力量、精力或价值,而且会导致不可避免的毁灭。
【例句用法】
He ruined his prospects by carelessness.

二.walkv.步行, 陪...走, 散步, 偷走, 走过 n.步行, 散步, 人行道
【词义辨析】
walk, stride, stroll, strut, pace, step
这些动词均有“行走,徒步”之意。
walk最常用词,中性词,指除跑、跳之外所有移步的动作。
stride着重步子大而且节奏有力,流露出匆忙、烦恼、得意等情绪。
stroll多指走走停停,步子缓慢,悠闲自得,漫无目的。
strut指大摇大摆地走,含过分自信或自高自大意味。
pace指踱步,走步。
step多用来指“短步,台步或急步”。
【例句用法】
She walked away with two first prizes.
她轻而易举地赢了两项头等奖。
Somebody has walked off with my pen.
有人把我的钢笔偷走了。
