Actor Kim Soo-hyun's agency Goldmedalist issued an official statement on Friday, confirming Kim's past relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron.

However, the agency denied the allegation that they had dated for six years starting when Kim Sae-ron was a minor.

According to the agency, the two stars had dated for just over a year from December 2019 to the fall of 2020 after Kim Sae-ron had become an adult.

It said the photos released by the YouTube channel Hover Lab were all taken during that period.

The agency claimed that the expression "I miss you" in the letter was used frequently by soldiers serving in the military and did not hold any significance.

Goldmedalist also rejected claims that Kim Soo-hyun was responsible for Kim Sae-ron's financial struggles before her death.

Kim Soo-hyun's agency initially planned to respond to the allegations next week, but released a statement early as Kim is experiencing extreme emotional distress over the accusations made against him, as well as the malicious comments and false information that were rapidly spreading online.
