Hugh Jackman Finds Wolverine Character 'Eternally Fascinating'

The "X-Men" star returns as Wolverine in a new epic adventure set in Japan.

You know, Hugh, once upon a time, comic on was just for the hardcore of the hardcore, but really then the genre, the comic book genre seem to really thrusted into the mainstream, you just returned there,

I’ve seen that it’s where actors start to be rock stars.

Well, exactly, there’s nothing like that on the planet, particularly when you’re with an X-man movie. And I just had a great sore at the Brian Cranston got around by wearing a Brian Cranston mask. And then walked up on stage and took off the Brian Cranston mark. There he was. Mostly I should have walked around in full costume. Because I saw 50 people more like me than he is.

How many wolverines were there?

So many, and i’m sure if I walked through there, they’re gonna get errrrrh.

It is incredible and it’s a great thing I’ve been going there for many years and I’ve never experienced anything in life like what happened last Saturday.

I remember talking to you with the first wolverine way back when, this is a character that your eyes sparkle when you talk about, what is it about, this movie, this character, the genre?

I’d be lying if I said I chose that role, at that time, I would have taken anything, it was probably my first job in America, but I happened to sort of find this character that is internally fascinating to me, he’s cool, he’s in every way an actor’s dream. Because I know it’s an action movie, but actually I know there’s a lot to him, a lot kongfu act to do.

Yeah, even a little, there’s a little romance, there’s a little something for everybody.
