二、口译技巧

1. 形容词转化为副词

We have a long-term commitment to both desire excellence and the effective and creative use of technologies.
长期以来我们追求精良的设计和有效地、创造性地利用新技术。（committed to口译时采用形容词转化为动词的技巧； use 采用名词转化为动词的技巧）

2.增词

This does not mean that science and engineering are all we publish, but it does mean we are committed to the edges and frontiers of the world – to exploring new fields and new modes of inquiry.
这并非指我们只出版科学工程类图书，它指的是我们专注于介绍前沿学科，即开拓新的领域和新的探索方式。（committed to口译时采用形容词转化为动词的技巧）

3.逻辑关系转化

主从逻辑关系转化（定语从句转化为主句）

One of the independent Press’s first new employees was graphic innovator Muriel Cooper, who designed our distinctive logo and set the course for the design innovation that have been a hallmark of the Press’s work to the present day.
最早的雇员之一，书画刻印艺术的革新者库柏设计了我们独特的社标，并确立了创新的方针，时至今日，设计创新一直是我社工作的特点。

4.抽象名词具体化

We have continued to look for the most efficient means to serve our readership.
我们继续寻找最佳的方式为读者服务。
