Admire

The English instinctively admire any man who has no talent and is modest about it.
英国人本能地赞美没有才能并且十分谦虚的人。
注：在中国没本事但谦虚的人也很吃香。

A tedious railway journey was made in a train that seemed to stop every few minutes to admire the scenery.
乏味的铁路旅行好象火车每隔几分就停下来欣赏风景一样。
注：换个角度看问题，慢车很乏味，但可以有更多的时间欣赏风景。

I almost feel compelled to admire you. You always think twice before you say absolutely nothing!

注：讽刺有些人谨小慎微，思前想后，什么也不敢说。

注：谦虚的人大都默默无闻，所以在现在这个社会，不要吹嘘，但也不要太谦虚，要表现出真实的自己。

We always like those who admire us but we do not always like those whom we admire.
我们总是喜欢羡慕我们的人，但不总喜欢我们羡慕的人。
