The visiting US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says U.S. won't take sides over Diaoyu Islands.

Panetta visited a Chinese Army academy and presented a speech, in which he said the U.S. won't take a position over Diaoyu Islands. He hoped that concerned countries make joint-effort to work out solutions to maintain security and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
帕内塔参观了中国的一所军官学院并做了演讲。在演讲中他表示美国不会对钓鱼岛事件任意一方有何偏袒。他希望相关国家能共同维护亚太地区的和平稳定。
Also Wednesday morning, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with Panetta.

Xi said Japan's so called purchase of the Diaoyu Islands was a farce and urged Japan to stop any behavior that infringed upon China's sovereignty.
