A bomb exploded near an army convoy in India-controlled Kashmir on Saturday, killing at least seven soldiers and wounding 20 others.
K. A Muthanna is a brigadier of the Indian Army.
"In this explosion there are seven fatal casualties and others, with minor injures, have been evacuated to the hospital"
The bomb was apparently buried along a highway north of Srinagar, the main city in Indian Kashmir, and exploded as the army convoy passed nearby.
It was one of the worst attacks since 2005, when militants frequently used roadside bombs to attack Indian troops.
On Friday, a grenade attack near Srinagar wounded 35 people.
Police suspect Muslim rebels were behind the attack, but no group has claimed responsibility.
