Hi Dr Joe!
嗨,乔博士!
I think we should continue our exploration of poetry.
我认为我们应该继续探索诗歌。
That's a great idea!
好主意!
In recent lessons, we talked about poetry and parts of speech.
在最近的课程中,我们谈到了诗歌和词性。
But we can also talk about poetry and syllables.
但我们也可以谈论一下诗歌和音节。
A syllable is a natural division of a word.
音节是单词的自然分割。
For example the word flower has two syllables --- flow and er.
例如,花卉这个词有两个音节-flow和er。
The number of syllables depends on the vowel sounds.
音节的数量取决于元音的发音。
In the word flower we have two vowel sounds.
flower这个词有两个元音。
English has many vowel sounds, but we write these vowel sounds with a smaller number of letters.
英语有很多元音,但我们用较少的字母来写这些元音。
A e I OU and sometimes y.
a-e-i-o-u,有时是y。
We can use more than one of these letters to write a vowel sound.
我们可以使用不止一个这样的元音字母。
For example, consider the word boot.
例如,像是单词Boot。
Although there are two vowel letters o and o There is only one vowel sound --- U.
虽然有两个元音字母o和o,但只有一个元音-u。
We can practice counting syllables by clapping our hands together when we hear vowel sounds.
当我们听到元音时,我们可以通过拍手来练习数音节
Let's do my favorite!
让我们来做我最喜欢的事情!
Winter we clap our hands together twice.
Winter,我们拍手两次。
Like winter.
就像这样 winter。
We can repeat the word several times.
我们可以把这个词重复几次。
Winter winter winter.
Winter winter winter
This exercise comes in very useful when you are writing or reading poetry.
当你在写诗或读诗时,这个练习非常有用。
You can count syllables to create specific kinds of poems.
你可以数音节来创作特定类型的诗歌。
We will explore these poems in future videos.
在之后的视频里我们将继续探索这些诗歌。
And that's everyday grammar TV!
这就是本期的日常语法节目!
