A Qartheen stepped into her path.
一个魁尔斯人挡在面前。
“Mother of Dragons, for you.”
“龙之母，给您的礼物，”
He knelt and thrust a jewel box into her face.
他单膝跪下，呈上一个珠宝盒。
Dany took it almost by reflex.
丹妮下意识地接过来。
The box was carved wood, its mother-of-pearl lid inlaid with jasper and chalcedony.
这是一个精雕的木盒，祖母绿的顶盖嵌着碧玉和玉髓。
“You are too generous.”
“你太客气了。”
She opened it.
她将它打开，
Within was a glittering green scarab carved from onyx and emerald.
里面有一只闪闪发光的绿甲虫，由玛瑙和翡翠雕刻而成。

As she reached inside the box, the man said,

The scarab unfolded with a hiss.

Dany caught a glimpse of a malign black face, almost human, and an arched tail dripping venom …
丹妮瞥到一张恶毒的黑脸，像是人脸，带有一条滴毒液的弯曲尾巴……
and then the box flew from her hand in pieces, turning end over end.
说时迟那时快，盒子从她手中翻飞而出，
Sudden pain twisted her fingers.
在空中化为碎片。
As she cried out and clutched her hand, the brass merchant let out a shriek, a woman screamed,and suddenly the Qartheen were shouting and pushing each other aside.
一阵剧痛令她手指抽搐。她大叫出声，捏住自己的手，铜器商同时尖叫，一个女人也在尖叫，顷刻之间，所有的魁尔斯人都在一边尖叫一边互相推攘。
Ser Jorah slammed past her, and Dany stumbled to one knee.
乔拉爵士挤到她前面，丹妮则踉跄着跪下。
She heard the hiss again.
嘶嘶声再度传来。
The old man drove the butt of his staff into the ground,
那个老人将拐杖在地上杵了杵。
Aggo came riding through an eggseller’s stall and vaulted from his saddle,
这时，只见阿戈飞马踏过鸡蛋商的店铺，一跃而前，
Jhogo’s whip cracked overhead, Ser Jorah slammed the eunuch over the head with the brass platter,
乔戈的鞭子劈啪作响，乔拉爵士则拿起刚买的盘子朝跟踪她的太监当头砸下。
sailors and whores and merchants were fleeing or shouting or both …
在场的水手、妓女和商人都在狂呼乱叫，没命逃窜……
“Your Grace, a thousand pardons.”
“陛下，万分抱歉。”
The old man knelt.
老人单膝跪下。
“It’s dead. Did I break your hand?”
“它已经死了。我没伤到您的手吧？”
She closed her fingers, wincing.
她合拢手指，动了动，
“I don’t think so.”
“我想没有。”
“I had to knock it away,”
“刚才事情紧急……”
he started, but her bloodriders were on him before he could finish.
他话还没说完，她的血盟卫便扑上来。
Aggo kicked his staff away and Jhogo seized him round the shoulders, forced him to his knees, and pressed a dagger to his throat.
阿戈踢开拐杖，乔戈抱住老人肩膀，不让他起身，并用匕首抵上他的咽喉。
“Khaleesi, we saw him strike you.
“卡丽熙，我们看见他攻击您，
Would you see the color of his blood?”
要不要看看他血的颜色？”
“Release him.” Dany climbed to her feet.
“放开他。”丹妮站起身，
“Look at the bottom of his staff, blood of my blood.”
“看看他拐杖底下，吾血之血。”
